The New York Times and The Miami Gardens, both from the United States, used very similar writing techniques. They were both talking about the Super Bowl and were saying how most of is it was based on the faults or the gain of one player, Peyton Manning because he threw a game losing interception that was returned for a touchdown. They also both took quotes from random players from both teams and used facts and stats in their articles as well. The out of country papers such as Mirror.co.UK, The Scottish Daily Records or The Australian all said something about New Orleans deserving the super bowl victory because of all of the hardships like hurricane Katrina and then left the article on a good note in saying either it was good win or that Mardi Gras was going to start early because of the win..

After researching the news on the Pandas which have recently sent back to China there were differences and similarities between them. Between the American global news and the Chinas’ they both provided all the necessary information of who, what, where, when, why, and how. However some of them were strict to the point and then there were some that had some humanism. In the BBC news they provided some characterization to the pandas they especially quoted that one of the pandas Tai Shan have grown to be a, “good man.” They also stated that the other panda Mei Lan was to find a, “boyfriend” in the breeding program. They also have treated the pandas as celebrity in which Tai shan sneeze hit more than a million viewers. Two of the news from Xinhua and BBC news have provided more info. One of the news stated the panda’s parents and what was going to happen to them once they have reached China. They all have provived outside info of president Nixon's plan with the pandas a long time ago.
Recently in the Philippines, 196 people were arrested in relation to the massacre in the Ampatuan region. Almost 60 people, including women and journalists, were murdered on November 23rd, as they tried to sign up a political rival to run against the current power in the gubernatorial race. Those charged include Andal Ampatuan Snr, formerly a provincial governor and ally of President Gloria Arroyo. Andal Ampatuan Jr., who is said to have personally executed several of the victims, is now on trial for multiple murder while prosecutors say the arraignment of new suspects could take place any day now.The Arroyo administration has distanced itself from the Ampatuan clan as a result of the massacre and has vowed to stamp out its militias as well as private armies throughout the nation. This comes as local and national elections are scheduled throughout the nation in May.
I read over 5 of the same article with the topic of Costa Rica's first female president. The Euronews and Taiwan News are similar with the articles of the topic. However the aspect of which the editor of each article wrote was different. It was based on the topic but they reveal information based on the females outlook and ideas after becoming president but also what led up to the election. Both articles provide a who, what, when, where, why, and how which are fairly similar. For each Laura Chinchilla is the person being talked about. She is the pro-business former vice president who is now elected 1st female president of Costa Rica. The election took place on the weekend. According to the Euronews Chinchilla said "My administration will be open to all Costa Ricans. That means we must listen carefully to the voices of those who didn’t vote for us in this election and we humbly ask for their help and support.” With her being the first female president of Costa Rica, she is very supportive of females. She joined a small club of female leaders in a male-dominated part of our world. The Taiwan News talks more into the goverment and the polls of the election votes. According to the Taiwan News, not only was Chinchilla originally VP but she has also been justice minister in President Oscar Arias' government. It had described Lauren Chinchilla as a strong female with a strong lead ahead of Sunday's presidential election. The results of the poll persentage was given on the past wednesday showing that she received a 41% percentage of support. That 41% was a 18% increase compared to the percentage Otto Guevara received. Her other opponent also was backed up with a 20% increase. She won twice as many votes bring her to the top.

Mayoral Control over public schools According to the many reports in the media today, mayoral control over public is a controversial issue today. Many people think mayor that it’s because of personal reason like more money. Others think he actually really cares about students and their futures. Governor David Paterson stated, “….the whole idea is to benefit students.” According to whec.com Mayor Bob Duffy says his plan to take over public schools will improve graduation rates. But many people oppose this plan because they think it will be worse to get in touch with one person than seven. 13wham.com is another group that’s against mayoral control. They think it will eliminate people’s right to vote. Reverend Emmitte Myrick said, “We believe as a faith-based organization that one man should not have solely control over everything.” He’s basically saying that it’s too much power for one person which will be a mistake according to their beliefs. Democrat and Chronicle states that the mayor has no experience in running school districts. “He has pledged to support efforts to cut unnecessary spending and direct more dollars into the classroom.” RocNow is a website who’s for mayoral control over public schools. They say that CSD has failed our children for 30 years and their future isn’t promising. They need help now. “Only half the students are at grade level and the graduation rate hovers around 50 percent.” But the children aren’t to blame, the superintendents were blamed. RocNow says they children need to support Mayor Bob Duffy because he has a plan to support them.
Computers have changed the way people acquire music. CD’s have been pushed aside almost completely by the MP3 download. Pirated music has become a big problem but continues to be a huge part of how people access music. In these times of virtual downloading, vinyl records have made a comeback. Many popular bands prefer to release albums on CD or online, but underground hardcore punk and metal bands are pressing new albums on vinyl as well as or including a digital download. Records have seen a steady decline since the introduction of digital media in the late 80’s and had almost completely left the mainstream in 1991. Since 2008, vinyl sales have jumped to the millions. This doesn’t count the amount of rare records being sold online or at shows. The main reason of this rebirth is the analog sound of a record is not restrained by digital file size or quality. It is pure, 100%, glorious sound. With the resurgence of records, the way that they are packaged and pressed has changed. Many records released now have colored or see through vinyl. The actual packaging has changed as well. Where records use to usually be a single sleeve, we now see triple gatefold covers with 14 page color booklets and etched vinyl on one side. The actual physical possession of the record is also what drives collectors to continue buying. Many people believe that vinyl sound is superior to digital sound. This is why many bands are releasing records on vinyl now. It is a movement against a bland digital download with no meaning.

Customers Act Like They Are Post To Be Treated Like Gods
Customers don’t realize that they have to recognize that the people serving them are humans just like them. Last Friday Rick White, a cashier at Wegmans got a customer complaint because he placed some tissue on top of the eggs. Some customers are so picky and they treat cashiers like their slaves. Cashiers are ordinary people “just in uniforms.” White did not say anything rude to the customer. He was not even aware that the customer was unhappy with how he bagged her items. White states, “She did not complain about anything, she walked away as if nothing happen but I noticed her vibe seemed upsetting and unpleased.” The customer who we are unable to give her name out says, “The cashier should have known better.” There was big argument about should the complaint go under White’s record at his job or was the customer wrong? Some even through the word racism in this case because the cashier was African American and the customer was white. What do you do in situations like these? White is very upset that this situation is even a problem and he strongly feels it should not be held against him. His family members have been deeply concerned about the treatment of the rest of the African Americans employed at Wegmans. Will this case turn into a “Black V.S. White” people or will they go about the situation professionally. Fortunately this case will continue and will be evaluated for the final conclusion.

It’s like the movie when the girls made the pact to become pregnant at the same time. Everywhere you look there is a high school student or 15 and 16 year old pregnant. Some people say that many teens don’t plan to get pregnant it just happens. It’s seemed like that all teens’ want to, because they should wrap it up. They know the consequences of having unprotected sex. “Who doesn’t?”
There is about I million teens that gets pregnant every year. 30 percents of those pregnancy results into abortions, 14 percent have miscarriages. Most of these teens are not married and is a single parent. The pregnancy rate in the United States is a serious problem today. According to a recent statistics, more than 900,000 teenage pregnancies occur each year; four in ten American girls will become pregnant at least once during their teens. Schools believe that if you teach the students about this stuff they will change their mines. That doesn’t do nothing but make them curious.
The world is very different today we have these young teens girls that let these boys fill their head with lies, and then have sex with them. When they end up pregnant they think the boy is going to be there for them but he say its not his, and leave her alone. Not to put it all on the boys it’s also the girls too. We have girls who pop the condoms and girl who say there on birth control, when they’re really. Most of the teen that ends up pregnant becomes a single parent on welfare, and struggling to get what she needs.
I asked my cousin a young teen question about her situation (being pregnant). She told me she was on birth control, and didn’t plan to get pregnant it was something that jus happen to her. She would have gotten an abortion but she doesn’t believe in killing a human being even though they’re not fully developed.
Valentine’s Day is the one day of the year where if you have an admirer who does or say things that is a little bit on the stalker side then it’s perfectly okay. Why is it that when you receive strange notes, gifts, or signs on Valentine’s Day it is considered cute and not bizarre? On any other day if someone were to receive a note telling her to meet them somewhere they’d probably freak out and totally ignore it. I think that even if it is around the time of Valentine’s Day notes such as this shouldn’t be considered all fun and cute un less you’re sure of who it’s from. Because of the fact that these acts can be taken so lightly, predators can use it to their advantage without anyone thinking twice about it. Why do people find this so acceptable? Perhaps it’s because it creates this fantasy world where people receive the admiration that they secretly long for. The symbol of the heart is often taken in a caring manner, for instance “I heart you”, but what about “oh my heart is broken” and not to mention the fact that real hearts are bloody and not so attractive. Love is beautiful within the right context, and that ain’t on Valentine’s Day.
